Titans Defeated by the Texans: Week 17 Loss in Houston

The Titans end 2023 with a very poor showing in a blowout loss to the Texans. The Titans lost 26-3.

First Half:

The Texans scored the first points of the game with a field in the first quarter. Will Levis left the game in the first half with an injured right foot after a strip sack that was returned for a touchdown. Levis (2-6 for 16 yards) did not return to the game and was replaced by Ryan Tannehill. The Texans scored 17 straight in the second quarter before a Nick Folk field goal just before halftime.

Second Half:

The Titans came out of the second half trailing 20-3 and were shut out the entire second half of the game. The Texans kicked two more field goals before the end of the game to win it 26-3.

Game Summary:

C.J. Stroud in his first game back from a concussion had a solid showing ( 24-32 for 213 yards and 1 TD). Tannehill finished the game 16-20 for 168 yards. Derrick Henry rushed 12 times for 42 yards. DeAndre Hopkins had 7 receptions for 72 yards. The Titans allowed 6 sacks and were 1/12 on third downs.

The Titans (5-11) now hold the 7th overall pick in the draft order and play the Jaguars in Nashville for the last game of the season.
