Bengals last minute efforts not Enough

The Los Angeles Chargers (7-3) defeated the Cincinnati Bengals (4-7) 34-27 at Sofi Stadium on Sunday Night Football

In a great Sunday Night Football game, the Bengals continued to put up big numbers in the air, but their defense has continuously let them down.

Justin Herbert and the Chargers took an early lead against the Bengals and added to it throughout the first half of the game to take a 24-6 lead before halftime. Ladd McConkey had a great day for the Chargers with six receptions for 123 yards. McConkey has made his case for the WR1 position for the Chargers in only his first season in the league. After halftime, the Chargers added three points to their lead with a field goal to start the second half.

Late in the third quarter, after being down 27-6, the Bengals went on to score three straight touchdowns to even the score 27-27. Ja’Marr Chase continued his major production for the Bengals with seven receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Tee Higgins also had a big day for the Bengals with nine receptions for 148 yards and one touchdown.

Even with the momentum shift after the Bengals three unanswered touchdowns, the Chargers came back and scored a touchdown to take back the lead 34-27 in the last minute to win the game. Bengals kicker Evan McPherson had a rough day, going 2/4 on field goal attempts with his two missed field goals turning out to be very important.
