Titans pull off an exciting win against the Texans

The Tennessee Titans (3-8) defeated the Houston Texans (7-5) 32-27 in Houston on Sunday.

The Titans showed up big in a significant win against the Texans. There are a lot of positives to take from this exciting matchup.

The first half had back-and-forth scoring and a few lead changes, with each team scoring a couple of touchdowns and field goals. The Titans entered the second half with a 20-17 lead, and Nick Folk increased their lead to six points after a 51-yard field goal.

After a great first half and scoring the first points to start the second half, the Titans had the majority of the momentum on their side until Will Levis threw a pick-six to give the Texans a one-point lead. Going into the fourth quarter, the pick-six gave the Texans a surge of energy, and they marched down the field to kick a field goal and take the lead 27-23. The Titans responded quickly after the Texans scored, with a 70-yard touchdown pass by Will Levis to Chigozeim Okonkwo to retake the lead 30-27.

After the Titans long touchdown, the Texans marched down the field to kick a field to tie up the game, but the Texans kicker missed an easy chip shot field goal. The Titans, now up by 3 points with less than 2 minutes left in the game, backed up the Texans to their five-yard line, and Harold Landry III caused a safety as C.J. Stroud ran out of the back of the endzone to seal the Titans win 32-27.

The Good:

Will Levis had another great performance, going 18/24 for 278 yards and two touchdowns. Levis made a few bad throws, including a pick-six in the third quarter to give the Texans the lead. Besides the interception, Levis had a great game, where he once again showed his toughness and ability to make tough throws. Levis made big plays when the Titans needed them, but he also caused some costly sacks where he just got overwhelmed. Levis has much to improve on, but he has completely turned his season around after his injury.

Tony Pollard has continued his production with another great showing. He had 24 carries for 119 yards and a rushing touchdown. Tony Pollard had all but 9 rushes on the day with Tyjae Spears once again out due to injury.

The Titans defense held strong and made some big stops against an explosive Texans offense. They held running back Joe Mixon to only 22 rushing yards on 14 carries and collected four sacks and 2 interceptions.

The Bad:

The Titans special teams continue to struggle, as they gave up another crucial turnover in this game. Other than the special teams performance and the right tackle position, the Titans did a very good job against a tough opponent on the road.

The Titans will travel for the second week in a row to face the Washington Commanders (7-5)
