Titans defeated by Chargers in LA

The Tennessee Titans (2-7) lost to the Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)  27-17 at Sofi Stadium on Sunday.

In Will Levis’ first game back from injury, he had a good game, but more importantly, he didn’t cause any turnovers. Levis went 18/23 for 175 yards and two touchdowns. We saw something new from the Titans offense this week, with a few designed runs for Will Levis as well as some designed rollout plays that seemed to work well for the Titans.

Calvin Ridley had a good game with Wil Levis back at quarterback as they seemed to have a good connection. Ridley had five receptions on nine targets for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Ridley’s production over the past few weeks has continued to grow since the Titans traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Chiefs. Ridley recorded 12 receptions over the first 6 games but has 20 receptions in three games since the Hopkins trade.

The Titans currently have the number one defense in the NFL based on yards given up per game, while they are ranked 29th in points given up.

Titans’ special teams continued to struggle as they gave up a 56-yard kick return, giving the Chargers the ball past midfield. The Chargers went on to score a touchdown on that drive to extend their lead to 10 points.

Even with the loss, Will Levis’ turnover-free performance is a good sign. The Titans should be able to build off of this performance from the offense. The Titans still have some things to figure out on the special teams side.
